Chairman's Message

When Orient Express Lines (OEL) Singapore was formed in early 2000, the company’s vision was “to be our customers obvious choice for total logistics solutions through innovative and reliable services”. This objective remains the same till this day.

Back then, we were just a container feeder service company set up to commence a service between Singapore and Bangladesh for a major customer. From humble beginnings, we grew steadily and eventually introduced more services into the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia region.

In 2002, we purchased our own container vessels flying the Singapore flag under Liberty Navigation Singapore.
During the shipping boom in 2005, we had an opportunity to build new vessels at the Singapore Technologies Marine Shipyard. This came at a time when the order books of shipyards worldwide were full for the next 10 years.

We took a bold and timely decision to order two new container vessels, and this gave us the stature to achieve our current position as one of Asia’s most prominent shipping companies.

To complement our services in OEL, we started our cargo services arm under BLPL Singapore in 2007. Today, we have our own fleet of container inventory spanning the entire region.

A year later, we took the next natural step of establishing a logistics division under BLPL to create value-added services for our customers. The increasing business activity led to the creation of a separate entity under Transworld Global Logistics Solutions.

To consolidate the various business units in Singapore, under one umbrella, we established our holding company Transworld Group Singapore in 2012.

Our progress thus far has been on the strength of the unwavering support of our customers, trade partners and service providers. Moving forward, we will continue to remain transparent and open in all our dealings with our customers. We strongly believe in the regular training and development of our staff to increase output quality, and will persist in creating state-of-the-art IT systems and upgrading them regularly for better productivity.

Building upon the strong foundation of our Vision, Mission and Values on which our organisation has grown, we shall endeavor to maintain a high standard of quality efficiency and customer service that we have set for ourselves.
